Published Jan 16, 2012Kick-start your week with the freshest album streams, tracks and videos over at the Exclaim.ca Click Hear section. Here's just a handful of our recent highlights.
First off, Toronto five-piece Hands & Teeth drop their eagerly awaited debut LP, Hunting Season, tomorrow (January 17), but you can feast your ears on the band's blend of folky pop and garage rock right now by checking out the full album stream, exclusive to Exclaim.ca.
In other debuts, Great Lake Swimmers are gearing up to release their new full-length, New Wild Everywhere, on April 3. To tide you over until then, take a listen to their lively lead single, "Easy Come Easy Go."
Joel Plaskett also recently unveiled an ambitious plan to record and release a new song every week for the next ten weeks, with each track combining to form his upcoming album, Scrappy Happiness, out March 27. True to his word, Plaskett premiered the first single, a perky pop rock number called "You're Mine" last week.
Nearly five years since 2007's Wincing the Night Away, the Shins return with a new record, Port of Marrow, due for release on March 20. Check out the freshly revealed track "Simple Song" for an unusually synth-heavy taste of what to expect from the band.
Next up, self-proclaimed "blue-waver" Nicolas Jaar follows up last year's experimental album, Space Is Only Noise, with "With Just One Glance," a downtempo groove featuring sultry vocals from the spawn of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Scout LaRue.
Finally, California noise pop meets New Jersey punk in Wavves' polarizing cover of the Misfits' 1985 track, "Hybrid Moments."
