Genitorturers

Live In Sin

BY Keith CarmanPublished Nov 23, 2007

A collection of well executed live performances interspersed with sordid offstage antics, Live In Sin is an excellent look at the X-rated S&M show the Genitorturers have been flaunting for over a decade. Led by dominatrix-esque front-woman Gen, the industrial metal quintet rip through songs from their more recent albums such as Machine Love and Flesh Is The Law as "unsuspecting guests” are drawn onstage and subjected to flogging, sexual gratification and torture from the vivacious blonde. While the footage from Live In Sin is extraordinary for an independent band, the segmenting of songs between various live performances is frustrating. With a powerful stage show such as this, a greater service would be provided to viewers by offering a full, uninterrupted set so that the majesty and perverseness of the band could be fully appreciated. Still, ten songs are executed flawlessly and bonus material including a Japanese Sin City promo, "behind the scenes” of the band’s Hustler Magazine photo shoot and typical backstage tomfoolery are fun and interesting.
