Generationals Sign to Polyvinyl for 'Heza'

Generationals are moving up in the world. Having released two albums and an EP for Park the Van, the New Orleans-based indie rock duo have signed with the comparatively high-profile Polyvinyl Record Co. for their third LP. Entitled Heza, it drops on April 2.

The album was recorded during staggered sessions in Austin, New Orleans and Washington, DC. According to a press release, the results mix minimal electronics with guitar-heavy muscle, toning down pop immediacy in favour of texture.

The announcement reads, "These songs show restraint — hooks develop in the spaces between sounds; the attention to rhythms and textures reveals a more patient band, willing to dig for deeper gems than in their previous work."

The lead single is a sprightly jangler called "Spinoza." Listen to that song below.

Heza can be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD, cassette or digitally right here. Vinyl copies ordered directly from Polyvinyl will be pressed on exclusive neon red wax in a run of 500.

Heza:

1. Spinoza
2. Extra Free Year
3. Say When
4. You Got Me
5. Put a Light On
6. I Never Know
7. Awake
8. Kemal
9. I Used to Let You Get to Me
10. Durga II
