Published May 20, 2015Evidently Gay Science have a bit of a soft spot for Friedrich Nietzsche. Not only do they take their name from one of the philosopher's books, but the man himself appears in the band's new video.
"Wrong" is a scorching noise rock track in which blood-curdling shouts emerge amidst a din of thundering drums and punishing distortion. The simple lyrics flash up on the screen — mostly consisting of phrases like "You're wrong" and "You're not right" — and we see some glitchy, colourful effects atop of an old photo of Nietzsche.
An announcement explains, "In tradition with the Nietzschean goal of overcoming through affirmation, the band's aim is to create an ultimately positive and joyful expression through music affirming the absurdities, pain, and meaninglessness of human existence. Hence, all the racket."
"Wrong" will appear as the A-side of a new single that the band is releasing through Mudtown Records. You can watch the video below and download the track over here. A longer release will follow later this year.
