Members of Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, BoySetsFire Join Forces as Eightysixguns

Though the Gaslight Anthem went on hiatus earlier this year, its members have been keeping busy outside of the band. Following the unveiling of guitarist Alex Rosamilia's grinding Servitude project and frontman Brian Fallon's solo debut, bassist Alex Levine has now announced he's hooked up with members of Dropkick Murphys and BoySetsFire as Eightysixguns.

The group started up a Facebook page earlier this fall, confirming that the lineup comprises Levine, Dropkick Murphys guitarist Tim Brennan, former BoySetsFire drummer Dan Pelic and vocalist Sammy Kay. Interestingly, as Substream points out, Pelic's ties to Gaslight Anthem run deep, considering he had also performed in Something About Death or Dying with Rosamilia.

Music from the quartet has yet to be offered, but they've described their approach, quite simply, as "Ol Fashioned Rock and Roll."

The band are due to make their live debut February 18 at Philadelphia's Sinclair venue. This will be an opening slot ahead of a performance from pop-punk group the Loved Ones. No other live dates have been announced at this time.
