Published Oct 04, 2011Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon has spent much of 2011 focusing on his introspective side-project the Horrible Crowes, but that didn't stop him for recording an EP with his more rocking main project. The band's iTunes Session will be available December 13.
The release was recorded at New York City's Magic Shop on July 25 of this year. It includes six songs, plus an interview.
According to a press release, "The release is comprised of one unreleased original track, 'Our Father's Sons,' four covers that have never before been put to tape, and a re-imagined version of 'Boxer,' the band's second single off their critically acclaimed album American Slang."
The covers that the band have lined up are: the Who's "Baba O'Riley," Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "Refugee," Pearl Jam's "State of Love and Trust" and the classic "The House of the Rising Sun."
If you pre-order now, your version will include a performance of "The Navesink Banks" from the band's 2007 album Sink or Swim. As an added incentive, those who pre-order will get an instant download of "State of Love and Trust." That extremely faithful Pearl Jam cover is streaming now at Rolling Stone.
This isn't the first time the band have covered "State of Love and Trust." Stream a past version at the bottom of this page.
