Gameface/Errortype: 11

Two of emo-pop's darlings team up for this split EP, which features two new songs and a 1982 cover from each. Orange County's Gameface weigh in with two brand new tracks that follow in the footsteps of the material from last year's break-through Every Last Time CD. Fusing post-punk angst and emotional strain, the two new originals exemplify a new maturity and need to rock while the 11-minute-plus cover of Tom Petty's "Change of Heart" will leave everyone wondering what the hell they were thinking when they recorded it. Errortype: 11's two tracks are leftovers from their last disc, but are by no means rejects. Nor is their cover of Split Enz's "I Got You" a worthless toss away. Good stuff to hold us over until both deliver new full-length records.
