Gallows Announce 'Desolation Sounds' LP

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 12, 2015

After dropping a two-song 7-inch last year, UK hardcore troupe Gallows have announced plans to release a new LP.

The release is called Desolation Sounds, and a press release says the title is named for "an expanse of water in frontman Wade MacNeil's native Canada." The album marks MacNeil's second full-length offering with Gallows. He joined the band in 2011 shortly after his other group Alexisonfire called it quits.

The band's Laurent "Lags" Barnard describes the album as "the record I've dreamt about making," adding, "I think the album sounds really fearless.... It's the sound of a band that's comfortable with playing music together, rather than trying to fit into a certain scene or zeitgeist or any preconceived notion of what the band should be. We just ignored the outside music world and made an album that felt good in our guts."

Desolation Sounds will feature 10 songs and run for 36 minutes. The album will arrive on April 13 via Venn Records/Play It Again Sam.

In the meantime, you can stream the new track "Bonfire Season" via a new Josh Reichmann-directed video below.
