Published May 01, 2010Now that we're out of the workweek and into the weekend, we're back with Exclaim!'s News Round-Up, which gathers up the top stories that graced our headlines this week. Here are just a few of those stories.
First off, Fucked Up's Damian Abraham sparred off against fellow Canuck rockers Stars over their decision to boycott Arizona until a controversial new immigration law is changed. However, what started out as an ugly-looking war of words soon got very polite and, um, painfully Canadian.
Then there was a double dose of Flaming Lips news. First, we got the good news that the Lips are pairing up with Spoon for a Toronto show (and if we're really lucky a North American tour), only to then find out the Oklahomans are being forced to cancel a series of dates due to Lip multi-tasker Steven Drozd being hospitalized.
We also had Trent Reznor returning with a new project, Women talking up their new full-length, Weezer playing with the idea of going indie and American musical guru Walter Sear passing away.
Finally, for some strange reason, David Letterman has decided to start a record label and, um, sign some pop punk band that no one has even heard of.
