Fucked Up to Tour Western Canada, Curate Calgary's Sled Island

BY Josiah HughesPublished Mar 30, 2010

Toronto-based hardcore tyrants Fucked Up have been hard at work on their third album, which is likely a musical and one called David Comes to Life, but they've also found time to work on various other efforts. Besides planned singles with King Khan & BBQ and NOFX, the band recently played SXSW. While it would be logical for them to settle into their practice space and get back into writing mode, Fucked Up will instead embark on another tour this May.

The string of dates announced so far kicks off in Newport, KY and includes several stops in the United States. Then, they'll make a run of shows through Canada, touching down in Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.

On top of that, it was recently announced that Fucked Up would be curating a portion of Sled Island in Calgary this year. While details are unknown, the band will be involved with the fest in some form or another.

The release date for Fucked Up's upcoming Year of the Ox is unknown, but it will be out via Matador soon. To hear both songs from the release on a live CBC performance, go here.
