Fucked Up to Bring Christmas Cheer to The Hour

Despite their angry music and decidedly agnostic lyrics, Toronto titans Fucked Up are no strangers to Christmas cheer. Last year, they gathered some indie-friendly cameos for their charitable "Do They Know It's Christmas?" cover, and in 2007, they dropped a Christmas original called "David Christmas." This year, they're celebrating the holidays with an appearance on George Stroumboulopoulos's The Hour this Friday (December 10).

The news comes via Fucked Up's blog, where guitarist Mike Haliechuk made the following statement:

If you live in Toronto, you can come to the CBC building on Friday and watch us play some festive music. We will be joined by some friends and are doing our own version of a cool Christmas song. If you want to come, you don't even have to ask my parents for their extra tickets, you can just send an email to georgetickets@cbc.ca and ask for tickets to Fucked Up. I have no idea what time we are playing, but it's probably around 5 or 6.

The Hour's official site lists the Temper Trap as their live guest on Friday, but before you cry "double booking," note that the Australian band are scheduled to perform in Las Vegas on the same day, so Fucked Up were likely asked as a last-minute replacement.

Regardless, we're hoping they cross paths with Stroumbou's other guest, Daniel Lanois. Maybe they can rope him into working on their upcoming musical.
