While the mysterious Jade Hairpins released a debut single back in 2018, it isn't until today that the group have been revealed to be the brainchild of Fucked Up drummer Jonah Falco and guitarist Mike Haliechuk.

As part of the big reveal, Falco and Haliechuk have delivered news of their live debut as Jade Hairpins, with seven performances slated to take place in the U.K. later this month.

The two will be joined live by Tamsin M Leach and Jack Goldstein, while a press release promises that "more shows and music" will come later this year.

You can find their itinerary below.

The press release also points out how Falco and Haliechuk have dropped clever hints about Jade Hairpins within Fucked Up material these past few years.

The B-side of the band's 2018 High Rise 7-inch, "Tower on Time," is credited to Jade Hairpins, while the unsung lyrics to Dose Your Dreams cut "Accelerate" feature the line "Her hair was pinned by jade."

You can hear Jade Hairpins' "Mother Man" in the player below and can buy the 12-inch single backed with "Gracefully" over here.

Falco, Haliechuk and their Fucked Up bandmates recently covered the Tragically Hip. Exclaim! recently named the band's 2011 album David Comes to Life as one of the 50 Best Canadian Albums of the 2010s.
