Fucked Up

"Year of the Dragon" (live video)

Fucked Up premiered "Year of the Dragon," the latest in their line of epic tracks partially inspired by the Chinese Zodiac, earlier this month in Toronto, but a video has now popped up of the hardcore adventurists tackling the lengthy tune in New York.

The video, which the band shared on their Looking for Gold blog today (September 30), was captured at NYC's (Le) Poisson Rouge over the weekend and kicks off with some spacey six-string atmospherics. We're not quite sure what Damian Abraham is screaming about once the outfit stomp into the song proper, but the cascading arrangement has him barking over sea-shanty rhythms, a speedy punk passage and wah-wah guitar textures before the song wraps up just under the 15-minute mark.

You can try to process the extended genre exploration down below.

Fucked Up's last "Year" release was 2012's Year of the Tiger. It's unclear at present when Fucked Up will issue a studio version of "Year of the Dragon."
