F.S. Blumm

Berlin-based F.S. Blumm is a multi-instrumentalist and classically trained musician, and it shows. His latest album is full of the kind of music that could accompany you anywhere and be the charming and lovely soundtrack to your life. Mixing paired-down guitar and homemade beats he’s created an album so seamless you barely notice the track changes, a feat that can be difficult to accomplish. The majority of the album is quiet and measured, but one exception is the track "Lilli,” which starts with a drumbeat and comes in with muffled trumpets and amazing guitar picking. Supposedly, Blumm writes his music out of the back of his camping van, after having driven to the south from the city. This is not difficult to imagine, as the album plays like a score to a film with widescreen shots of open prairies and distant mountains.
