EDM favourite Skrillex's old screamo band From First to Last have plans to put out a new LP sometime in the future and have just premiered the as-yet-unnamed LP's first single. Big on chunky guitars and the genre's vocal spectrum of glass-gargling cries into sweetened singing, "Dead Trees" has swung itself online as an audio stream.
The track is the first original tune to be delivered with current vocalist Spencer Sotelo (Periphery) and has the guy whisper-singing about the "ashes of desire" overtop a series of metallic pinch squeals. As with Sotelo's gentle-to-gruff vocal approach, the track ebbs and flows from bone-breaking beats to a melodic chorus section.
A release date has yet to be set for the band's fifth LP, and first since 2010's Throne to the Wolves, but you can check out the new tune down below.
