Last fall, Carey Mercer shared the latest Frog Eyes album, Carey's Cold Spring, as a digital release on Bandcamp. Now, the collection is finally slated to receive a proper physical edition with a label behind it.

Marcer has inked a deal with Paper Bag Records, which will release Carey's Cold Spring on vinyl and CD on June 17.

This pressing preserves the nine-song tracklist (see below). A press release notes that the album was finished just before Mercer learned he had throat cancer, adding, "Mercer's cancer seems to be departed, leaving us the opportunity to appreciate the record without such a dire context. The joy here is tripled: he's not going to die, and, as a bonus, the record is awesome."

The album can be pre-ordered through iTunes or at Paper Bag's store.

Furthermore, Paper Bag will be issuing Mercer's book Clouds of Evil, which is an essay collection be compiled for his son. Judging by the essay titles, music will play a big factor in the tome; titles include "A Story about the Time I Broke Up Wolf Parade, a Popular Independent Rock Band, by Starring in Their Music Video and Accepting One Thousand of Their Dollars" and "A Few Recollections of the Time My Band Frog Eyes Went to Moscow."
