Friendly Fires to Hit the Studio with SBTRKT

Friendly Fires and SBTRKT have a lot in common. They're both British acts with a penchant for electronics and both have much-buzzed new albums under the belts. It makes perfect sense, then, that they will be hitting the studio together for a collaborative project.

While at the Isle of Wight's Bestival, Friendly Fires singer Ed MacFarlane told NME, "As soon as we get back from Bestival we're going into the studio with SBTRKT to work on a song we've started. It's hopefully going to be a limited seven-inch that's available only on our tour."

The frontman also said this about pairing up with SBTRKT: "It just felt totally right, probably my favourite record of the year, a dance act with a pop sensibility which is what we're about."

Unfortunately, all of Friendly Fires' shows with SBTRKT are in the UK. Both of the acts have solo Canadian shows coming up soon, however. Check out Friendly Fires' schedule here and SBTRKT's here. And even if the seven-inches aren't at the merch table by then, the collaborative song is bound to arrive online soon enough.
