Friendly Fires Considering Name Change for Next Album

Last year, UK dance pop trio Friendly Fires finally released Pala, the long-awaited follow-up to their 2008 self-titled effort. Hopefully, it won't be another three-year gap between albums, as the group are already talking about new material. When it does surface, however, it might come out under a different moniker.

Speaking with the Sunday Mirror [via NME], frontman Ed Macfarlane said, "We've been working on eight-minute long tracks that don't sound anything like what we do now."

Because of the new direction, the band are considering the option of hanging up the Friendly Fires banner for something new. "The music is what it's all about for us so if it means we release under a different name then that's fine," Macfarlane added.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. The music video for the band's Pala single "Hurting" is available below.
