Freddie Gibbs Recording New Album in 24 Hours

Following the release of his Str8 Killa No Filla mixtape and subsequent Str8 Killa EP, Indiana rap great Freddie Gibbs recently signed with Young Jeezy's budding CTE Music label. While we don't know when he will drop his debut for that imprint, we do know that the rapper will record and release a new album before the end of the week.

Hip Hop DX reports that Gibbs will team up with mixtape great Statik Selektah today (June 22) to record a full album called Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away. The record will be recorded over a 24-hour period and will include a number of guests, though names have not been released. The recording session will also be documented on Ustream via XXL.

From there, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away will hit iTunes on Friday (June 24). This will be the third time Statik Selektah has completed one of these lightning-fast recording projects, having recorded Saigon's All in a Day's Work and Freeway's Statik-Free EP in similar timeframes.
