Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Announce 'Deeper' EP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 22, 2013

Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs and crate-diggin' sampler/producer Madlib's ongoing collaborative relationship blessed us with the "City" single earlier this summer, but the duo have even more tunes in store for us in 2013. Up first will be a new EP titled Deeper, which drops September 13 through Madlib's Invazion imprint.

The six-song release kicks off with the title cut proper, and is followed up by the instrumental version. Though a stream of the song has not yet made the rounds, it's possible that the track could be a sister song to the duo's Thuggin' track "Deep" from 2011. Also included on the new EP is a track called "Harold's," its instrumental counterpart and two "bonus beats." You'll find the tracklisting down below.

FACT reports that Gibbs and Madlib's long-promised Piñata LP (which formerly had the title of Cocaine Piñata) has a tentative October due date, though that has yet to be confirmed.

Deeper:

1. Deeper

2. Deeper (Instrumental)

3. Ups and Downs (Bonus Beat)

4. Harold's

5. Harold's (Instrumental)

6. The Long Walk Home (Bonus Beat)
