Frankie Rose and the Outs

"Thee Only One"

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 15, 2009

As we recently told you, former Vivian Girls, Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts drummer Frankie Rose has stepped out on her own to form Frankie & The Outs. The five piece band, which is fronted by Rose, will be releasing their debut single later this month through Slumberland Records.

The A-side, "Thee Only One," sort of sounds like an amalgamation of Rose's three former projects. Rumbling, fuzzy garage pop with female harmonies and an addictive melody beneath all the racket. While this brand of Brooklyn garage is certainly reaching fever pitch in the blog world, this song goes beyond the hype of niche markets, instead delivering well written rock n' roll. Look for the full-length record when it drops on October 27.
