Act Like you Know

BY Stephanie KalePublished Oct 1, 2005

Known to many as the Godfather of the American rave scene, Frankie Bones is a prolific pioneer of new sounds and events since he began his career as a DJ back in NYC around 1982.. Bones is also widely acknowledged for Stormrave, a series of parties he threw in Brooklyn in the late ’80s and early ’90s that gave many renowned DJ’s today some of their first debuts for large audiences including Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin and Joey Beltram. Act Like You Know is over 75 minutes of seamless mixes composed of all original tracks Bones co-produced with DJ Circuitbreaker (with the exception of "Do Me Like You Do”) for their Philadelphia based label Hard to Swallow Records. Bones definitely keeps the relentless deep-tech beat steady and tight for the entire album, yet there are surely splashes of some fun-in-the-sun electro-disco, and also some dub influences in the breakdowns.
