Published May 30, 2011UK folk punk troubadour Frank Turner has quickly built a name for his relatable working-class anthems over the span of three albums. Now, he's aiming to keep the momentum going when he drops his fourth record, England Keep My Bones. The album isn't due out until June 7 via Epitaph, but you can stream the whole thing now at Exclaim.ca.
Recorded at Church Studios in Crouch End, England, England Keep My Bones definitely puts more emphasis on the folk than the punk with acoustic guitars taking a central role while Turner sings homages to England, at times even adopting a traditional a cappella singing style.
Along with Turner and his backing band, the album features guest appearances from former Hold Steady member Franz Nicolay, as well as Emily Barker, Chris T-T and Andy Yorke.
"I can't wait to get this record out there," Turner said in a statement. "The new songs have been going down really well live, but I think that when people hear the studio versions they're going to go nuts. I really think it's the strongest set of material I've had on one record."
