The Webby Awards is an annual ceremony celebrating excellence on the internet, and the winners of this year's prizes have now been announced. Among the winners are a some big names from the music world, including Frank Ocean and Grimes.

Frank Ocean won Person of the Year. According to an announcement from the Webbys, the R&B singer "had a truly remarkable, impactful year as both a musician and cultural icon, showing a deep understanding of the internet as a communicative tool for social change." The key moment in this landmark year was, of course, his Tumblr post about his sexuality.

As for Grimes, she won Artist of the Year. The reasons for her victory include her use of the internet to distribute her music for free and as a "social toll to connect with fans through candid, meaningful dialogue."

Other musicians who won prizes are Justin Beiber (People's Voice Award for his "Girlfriend" fragrance launch) and Lady Gaga (Celebrity/Fan Social Presence for the social media integration with her Barney's storefront). Non-musical winners include Obama for America 2012 (Breakout of the Year) and Jerry Seinfeld (Outstanding Comedic Performance for Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee).
