Published May 07, 2018Francesco Yates has been making more than a few waves recently, and now the fast-rising Toronto pop wunderkind is hitting us up with a new video for his latest single "Do You Think About Me."
The 22-year-old and his hook-friendly falsetto are centrestage in the new video, which find Yates doing his thing onstage in front of a teeming crowd — and one concertgoer in particular.
Speaking of "Do You Think About Me," Yates explains, "I love Prince and the Minneapolis sound but I also wanted to talk about the things I was experiencing in relationships and do it in a way that was my own. I wanted to show the darker side of the game but do it in a tongue in cheek manner."
You can see and hear exactly how that plays out for yourself by watching the video to "Do You Think About Me" below.
As a refresher, Yates signed to Atlantic Records when he was just 16, going on to eventually open for the likes of Justin Timberlake.
"I've grown," says Yates. "When I was first signed, I was a deer in the headlights. Now I feel I can navigate better, not just in the music world, but in my adult life. There's security in becoming a man, so I've learned from that. You can't be afraid of the growth."
