Forward Music Group Launches Experimental Sub-Label: Backward Music
Forward Music Group's roster includes the likes of Snailhouse and Paper Beat Scissors, and soon the East Coast label will be releasing even more new music thanks to the launch of the offshoot imprint Backward Music.

A press release explains that "Backward will focus on giving a voice to the highest calibre creative and innovative music outside of the mainstream and doing so with a careful focus on presentation and aesthetic."

The left-field imprint will officially launch on October 30 with the compilation Backward Music Volume One. This will include tracks from three different acts: New York soundscape ensemble Bing & Ruth (led by David Moore), Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Joshua Van Tassel (who has been a sideman for Justin Rutledge, Royal Wood, Doug Paisley and more) and Paper Beat Scissors leader Tim Crabtree.

The music found on the collection is said to be a cinematic blend of electronic and acoustic textures geared towards soothing emotions.

Check out the tracklist for the eight-track collection below and the album cover above. Scroll to the bottom of the page to hear the sweetly meandering "And Then It Rained" by Bing & Ruth.
