Fortunate Ones Announce 'Hold Fast' LP, Share New Single

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 26, 2018

Newfoundland indie-folk duo Fortunate Ones have revealed plans for their sophomore album. Hold Fast will arrive on May 25 via Old Farm Pony Records.

The upcoming LP marks the follow-up to their 2015 debut The Bliss, though the band did also release a Christmas EP in 2016 that caught the ear of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Hold Fast was produced, engineered and mixed by Daniel Ledwell at Echo Lake in Nova Scotia, then mastered by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel in Toronto.

It features songwriting collaborations from Canadian heavyweights Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, Tim Baker of Hey Rosetta! and Meg Warren of Repartee. Jim Bryson, the Good Lovelies, Alexa Dirks, Mike Belyea and Kinley Dowling were also enlisted for additional musical contributions.

See the full tracklisting for Hold Fast below, then hit play to hear lead single and album opener "Northern Star."
