Published Feb 22, 2019Best known for his brief stint with the Cure in the 1980s, drummer Andy Anderson has revealed that he has terminal cancer.
In a Facebook post earlier this week, Anderson explained that there "is no way of returning from that, it's totally covering the inside of my body."
Anderson added that he's signed a do not resuscitate order so as to not lay responsibility on his next of kin. He also said that chemotherapy and radiation options were being discussed for the coming weeks.
Anderson closed by telling his friends and followers, "No boo-hooing here, just be positive… be cool."

Anderson joined the Cure in 1983 and recorded with them on Japanese Whispers, The Top and Concert, as well as singles "Love Cats" and "The Caterpillar." He's also worked with artists like Iggy Pop, the Glove, Edwyn Collins, Peter Gabriel, Midge Ure and Mike Oldfield.
The Cure are slated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year.
