Forest Swords Releases 'Fjree Feather' EP, Donates Proceeds to Japan

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 18, 2011

Forest Swords, the project of UK producer Matthew Barnes, has not yet released a full-length album but managed to garner major worldwide attention with his 2010 EP Dagger Paths. While he currently works on a debut album, due for release sometime this year, six rare tracks are getting their own release on the Fjree Feather EP.

If you're a super nerdy Forest Swords megafan, you may have heard these tracks before as they were released on a limited CD-R by Forest Swords and later issued as a bonus disc with his Dagger Path's CD. Remastered and appearing on vinyl for the first time, however, they will be new songs to the majority of listeners.

Fjree Feather is available now as a digital download right here, and will be available on vinyl via No Pain in Pop on June 20. Best of all, the profits from the record will go towards the Japanese Red Cross to aid in their ongoing relief efforts.

EP tracks "Kaibisa Claps" and "Trust Your Blood" can be streamed below.

Fjree Feather:

1. "Down Steps"

2. "Red Rocks Fogg"

3. "Kaibisa Claps"

4. "Trust Your Blood"

5. "Riverbed"

6. "Bones"
