Foo Fighters to Travel North American on Intimate Garage Tour, Play Toronto

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 18, 2011

Foo Fighters have a new album on the way, as the alt-rock stalwarts will be dropping Wasting Light on April 12 via Roswell/RCA. Naturally, the band will be promoting it with a tour, but they won't be playing the usual club or arena circuit just yet. Instead, they will be hitting up fans' garages in eight North America cities, including Toronto.

The tour will take place this April. If you think that your garage would be a good place to host a Foo Fighters show, then you can offer it up for consideration as a venue. According to a press release, "Fans who want a shot at making their garage one of these eight intimate venues can either enter the contest directly by explaining, in 25 words or less, why they (and 50 of their friends) deserve to win and then sending in a picture of their garage."

Get the full details and enter here.

If you don't want to host, but are hoping for a chance to attend a garage show, you can win a spot through your local radio station. See the dates below to find out which station is involved with the show nearest you.

That's not the only contest Foo Fighters will be hosting. If you enter the Concert Sweepstakes here, the band and Blackberry will get you "tickets to see the band in concert, an autographed copy of Wasting Light and more."

The garage tour was presumably inspired by the recording sessions of Wasting Light. The album was put to analog tape in Dave Grohl's garage with producer Butch Vig. Read up on the record here and see the video for the first single, "Rope," below.
