Foo Fighters Set Release Date for New Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 1, 2011

It's been nearly a year since alterna-giants Foo Fighters announced they were starting work on their "heaviest album yet." Recording sessions officially began at the end of last summer, with leader Dave Grohl's former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic contributing to the collection. Later, the pair, as well as fellow Nirvana alum Pat Smear and the rest of the Foos, played a gig together. All the while, fans have been drooling in anticipation for the forthcoming disc.

Well, Foos fans, the wait is almost over, as the band have announced that their new album will be released April 12 via Roswell/RCA.

Unfortunately that's about all the info we have on the record. No official album title or tracklisting exist yet for the troupe's seventh full-length, but the group have just released a 39-second clip of new tune "Miss the Misery."

You can check out the hard-rockin' riffage on Foofighters.fm or down below. You can also check out some show footage below from a Santa Barbara gig last weekend (January 28), featuring some more new music.
