Foo Fighters Greatest Hits

Foo Fighters Greatest Hits
The secret behind the Foo Fighters' illustrious career is quite simple; it's actually impossible to hate the Foo Fighters. Greatest Hits compiles 14 years of modern rock chart supremacy alongside two obligatory new tracks: the working-class dirge of "Wheels" and the utterly forgettable "Word Forward." Coming off better as a career overview than a must-have for hardcore fans, Greatest Hits demonstrates (for better or worse) just how little the Foo Fighters' sound has changed over the years. Sequenced out of chronological order, the songs plucked from the band's six LPs remain solid, leaving the inclusion of "Skin and Bones" (from their 2006 live acoustic album) over "I'll Stick Around" as the comp's only real misstep. The option of a second disc, featuring rare performances and b-sides, could have helped. But, of course, such gaffes must be the record label's fault. I mean, how could you possibly blame the Foos?
