This year's Folk Alliance Conference is just around the corner, and although most of the event is geared towards music industry professionals and those who are registered, there is still a jam packed listing of musical talent open to the public.

The alliance is changing things up this year, moving from its headquarters and past conference home in Memphis, Texas to Toronto's Delta Chelsea Hotel running from February 20-24. In addition to the workshops and private showcases planned for the opening night, Folk Alliance is opening up their doors to the public. From February 20-23, Folk Alliance will be at Hugh's Room holding public shows featuring such acts as Del Barber, Old Man Luedecke, Elephant Revival, as well as Rose Cousins.

Tickets for Hugh's Room shows are $25 in advance, or $27.50 at the door. If you order in advance, you can also go to two shows for $45, three shows for $65, or all four shows for $80. For ticket info, click here.

In addition to the Hugh's Room shows, the Folk Alliance will be holding their opening gala at the Delta Chelsea from 7:30-11pm, and promises a lineup of over 30 almost exclusively Canadian artists including Old Man Luedecke, Catherine MacLellan, The Strumbellas, and Wilderness of Manitoba who will play on seven different stages. They are requesting a $20 donation to benefit the Folk Alliance International Scholarship Fund.
