Fol Chen Return with 'The False Alarms,' Announce North American Tour

Electronic-tinged Los Angeles group Fol Chen have remained relatively quiet since their 2010 release Part II: The New December, but that will change this spring when they drop their third album.

The record is called The False Alarms and sees the band continue to explore their retro-futurist sounds. While we're a little perplexed by the use of past tense, a press release describes the album by saying, "Fol Chen makes the soundtrack to a future that never was."

The press release continues by explaining that "the band calls their genre 'Opera House,' a name lifted from Malcolm McLaren but recoined as beat-driven electronica with grand, operatic gestures and lyrically-dense storytelling."

Asthmatic Kitty will issue The False Alarms on March 19. Album track "200 Words" can be streamed below.

The band also have a North American tour scheduled, with stops in Montreal and Toronto set for April 6 and 7, respectively. You can see the schedule below.
