Foals' Yannis Philippakis Teams Up with Underworld's Karl Hyde for Studio Collaboration

Last year, Underworld member Karl Hyde released his first-ever solo album, Edgeland. Now, he's once again working on music away from his usual group, this time recording some tracks with Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis.

Philippakis told BBC 6 Music that he met Hyde at a festival, and the two teamed up in the studio to record some tracks. By the sound of things, the pair don't have any specific plans for their collaborative material, so it's unclear how, when or even if we'll ever hear them.

"There's no agenda, hopefully they'll come out at some point," Philippakis said.

Hyde, meanwhile, wrote a poetic blog post yesterday (February 16) about seeing a Foals show.

As previously reported, Foals still have a busy tour schedule in support of last year's Holy Fire. In the coming months, they're touring in Asia, South Africa, North America (including a Toronto gig with Cage the Elephant) and Europe. Their North American schedule is here.
