Foals Release Digital-Only EP, Cancel Alberta Dates

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Sep 5, 2008

Despite Foals recently calling their chart-topping album Antidotes "flawed,” the UK outfit are releasing a new digital-only EP in connection to the offending LP. Titled Gold Gold Gold, the six-track offering features the group’s next Antidotes single, "Olympic Airways,” along with a few b-sides and remixes, one done by Mr. Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet). All tracks were previously available on UK-only seven-inches and now due out on iTunes September 9.

The EP’s release coincides with Foals’ upcoming and rather brief North American tour, which until recently had them playing two Alberta dates: one in Calgary and another in Edmonton. Both performances are now cancelled. However, it seems headliners Bloc Party will still be playing.

Here is the EP’s tracklisting, along with Foals’ amended tour dates.

Gold Gold Gold:

1. "Olympic Airways” (single version)
2. "Dearth”
3. "Gold Gold Gold”
4. "Titan Arum”
5. "Red Socks Pugie” (Henrik Schwarz remix)
6. "Cassius” (Kieran Hebden version)
