Florence and the Machine Compile Short Film, Share "Third Eye" Video

Last we heard from Florence and the Machine, frontwoman Florence Welch and her crew were providing the soundtrack to Final Fantasy XV's latest trailer with a cover of "Stand By Me," and now they're showing off a more cinematic endeavour.

Moving from the realm of videogames to short films, the band have shared a new short film called The Odyssey.

It compiles a string of videos from their last record How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, including clips for "What Kind of Man," "How Big How Blue How Beautiful," "St. Jude," "Ship to Wreck," "Delilah" and "Queen of Peace."

Speaking about the project on Facebook, Welch explained:

"This is the finale of a very personal project that came from a conversation Vince and I had in Chateau Marmont about a year and a half ago while I was writing How Big How Blue How Beautiful. I was talking to him about the record and the car crash of a relationship break up I was going through. The highs and the lows of love and performance, how out of control I felt, the purgatory of heartbreak, and how I was trying to change and trying to be free. And we decided we would re-tell this story in full. We would re-claim this experience, re-imagine it and in some way perhaps I would come to understand it, to exorcise it. And so the Big Blue Odyssey began..."

The short film closes out with a brand new video for "Third Eye." You can see the new clip in the player below, and head here to stream the short film in its entirety.

Florence and the Machine will also embark on a spring North American tour next month, and you can find details here.
