Not many can claim the titles of being both a neuroscientist and an electronic musician, but Sam Shepherd is one who can. Under his Floating Points moniker, he recently contributed to Katy B's latest album, but now he's switching the focus back to last year's Elaenia LP.
The record landed on Exclaim!'s Top 10 Electronic Albums of 2015, and now Floating Points will be bringing it to life on stage on an upcoming North American tour. It will mark the first live shows for Shepherd with his brand new backing band.
The string of shows kicks off on April 25 in Los Angeles and will include a handful of Canadian stops in Vancouver (May 4), Toronto (May 10) and Montreal (May 11). Floating Points will also be making a couple of festival appearances, closing off the tour with gigs at Moogfest and Shaky Beats.
