Published May 05, 2014A pressing plant delay has turned Vancouver trio the Flintettes' upcoming hometown record release show for their debut 7-inch into more of a pre-order party, but that's not bringing the band down. Instead of stocking up with a slab of wax this week, you can check out the songs online right now.
Featuring members of the Tranzmitors, Dizzy Eyes and Vancougar, the trio mix up power-pop with garage rock, flexing scrappy guitar lines and bubbly female back-up vocals with Michael Flintoff's smarmy, Elvis Costello-styled singing.
Down below, you can check out the crew threading all of the above into stunning a-side "Open Your Eyes," singing about songs of love before letting an electric piano slide run wild on "What Was One," and giving the record a jangly and juiced up close with "It Could've Been Love."
The Flintettes perform this Friday (May 9) at Vancouver's the Cobalt, and the Open Your Eyes EP is expected to ship around June 3.
