Ever since Nathan Apodaca hopped on his longboard, took a sip from his Cran-Raspberry and headed off to work on the most chill commute of all time, things have been looking up — for him and for Fleetwood Mac, whose song plays softly in the background of his recent "Dreams" TikTok.
Shortly after Apodaca's viral moment, the 1977 track started to chart again. It started off modestly enough, entering Rolling Stone's Top 100 at the 29th spot. Since then, the song has climbed up the ranks steadily — and now, the band's accompanying album, Rumours, has joined the Billboard 200 (again) among the chart's Top 10 albums, 43 years after its initial release.
According to Billboard, the album earned "33,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 15," aided by Apodaca's viral hit. Though the chart has yet to be updated for this week, the new October 24-dated chart will see the album in the No. 7 spot on the Billboard 200.
It's an unsurprising climb, considering Apodaca's TikTok has accumulated over 10 million views since it was posted late last month.
His meteoric rise was so dramatic, that the internet star even caught the eye of Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks, who both recreated the original meme as a part of the ongoing "Dreams" challenge. Apodaca even has a Halloween costume based on his outfit in the video.
As far as the band are concerned, they're loving the viral attention. Nicks recently shared a new single, "Show Them the Way" with Dave Grohl, which arrived alongside a video directed by Cameron Crowe. Additionally, her live album/concert film 24 Karat Gold is on its way later this month, and a few extra eyes on her catalogue certainly can't hurt.
