This week, Ontario punks the Flatliners will release their rarities collection Division of Spoils, and as we count down the final days until its August 7 arrival on Fat Wreck Chords, they have shared the song "Lifers."
This the album's opening cut, and it begins the collection with a gritty punk surge. The tones are jagged and distorted, the drums hit hard, and the vocals are delivered with a gravely snarl. And yet, for all of the track's aggression, there's an undercurrent of melodic pop and some well-placed harmonies.
