From weed-flavoured musical candy to work with Neon Indian, the Oklahoma freak pop legends have not stopped stretching our expectations with each new idea. Up next, it appears, is a collaboration with Rhode Island noise rock greats Lightning Bolt.
The Stranger points to a recent tweet from the Lips' Wayne Coyne, who writes, "Workin on Flaming Lips/Lightning Bolt jam-out!!!!"
He also posted a video of the group's Steven Drozd listening through some audio files that sound just as gloriously busy as this collaboration would suggest. The video can be seen below.
No other info has surfaced on the potential collaboration, but if there's one piece of Flaming Lips vinyl we can't wait to hear this year, it will definitely be this one.
