The Flaming Lips and Ke$ha Cancel Their 'Lip$ha' Collaboration
The Flaming Lips and their heady fwend Ke$ha embarked upon a headline-grabbing partnership earlier this year, as a one-off collaboration spawned plans for a full-length apparently called Lip$ha. Unfortunately, those plans have now been called off.

Coyne announced the disappointing news on Twitter, cryptically adding that he couldn't give a reason for why the album has been axed. He wrote, "As of now ...sadly there will be no Lip$ha.... I can't say why... It is sad..."

Warner Bros. has since confirmed the cancellation with Rolling Stone.

Last year, Ke$ha made an appearance on the Flaming Lips' collaborative LP, The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends, appearing on the track "2012 (You Must Be Upgraded)." In April, Coyne revealed plans for Lip$ha during a Reddit AMA session, writing, "She is a blast on all levels. She's funny, she's humble. She's badass. She's everything. She's awesome."

Ke$ha previously told Exclaim! that she and Coyne met after complimenting one another during interviews. She explained, "Then we spoke on the phone and I invited him to my house. He showed up with a band full of dudes and they didn't leave my house for days. We ended up not sleeping and playing music for three days straight."
