First Person Shooter

I can’t tell if it’s First Person Shooter that totally sucks or just their singer. They’d be like a pop punk Evanescence if they weren’t so intent on being antiestablishment and confrontational, an endeavour in which they fail more miserably than Emily Haines on "Monster Hospital.” "Your Chemical Romance” makes you wonder if the singer (who will remain anonymous) is tone-deaf but "Trouble at the Foodcourt” just makes you wish she wasn’t singing at all. Luckily for FPS, they fuse commercial pop punk guitar and synths with genuine jungle drums on "The Green Grass of Toronto,” so hipsters and junglists alike might remember them for ages with irony.
