The First Annual Hamilton Blues & Roots Festival Announces Lineup

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 18, 2013

The Canadian festival landscape just keeps on getting busier. While 2013 is seeing the return of many annual events, it's also seeing the launch of some brand new festivals, including the first-ever Hamilton Blues & Roots Festival on June 1.

The performers include Steve Strongman (with special guests), Harrison Kennedy, Paul Deslauriers & Dawn Tyler Watson, Alfie Smith, Trickbag, Fraser / Daley, Banned from Heaven, Dawn & Marra and Terra Lightfoot.

These artists will play on King Street West in Hamilton's Westdale Village neighbourhood, the retail core of which will be shut down for the event. The festival is free to the public, and other attractions include various vendors, a beer garden, family movie night, street performers, and more.

This is billed as the "first annual" Hamilton Blues & Roots Festival, so we can evidently expect it to return in the coming years. Learn more over at the festival's website.
