Final Fantasy, Akron/Family and More Head to This Year's LOLA Festival
London, ON's LOLA Festival has announced it's coming back this fall with its fourth annual event, and we have the initial line-up. Running from September 17 to 19, the festival will this year rope in such performers as Bruce Peninsula, Canaille, Polar Bear, A Horse and His Boy, Nihilist Spasm Band and returning favourites Akron/Family and Final Fantasy.

Like every year, LOLA will merge left-of-centre independent music, visual art and creative technologies in London's downtown core, bringing a mix of sounds that range from contemporary chamber music to Afrobeat to jazz to electronica to a whole lot of in between.

"The objective with this year's line-up was to showcase artists who tend to explore more composition-based notions of song through instrumental narratives, yet who remain palatable in a traditional pop or indie type style festival setting," said Ian Doig-Phaneuf, LOLA's Music Curator, in a statement.

On the more visual side of things, Governor General Award-winning artists Michael Snow and Aganetha Dyck will be holding exhibitions, as well as Gordon Monahan, Dave Dyment and Nicholas Longstaff. Also, Victoria artist Robert Youds will set up a light-based installation that will transform an entire city block.

More acts are expected to be announced soon, so keep an eye on LOLA's website here.
