Film "Ping Pong with Angels" (video)
Greek synth-pop trio Film have unveiled a brand new video for their latest single "Ping Pong with Angels," and Exclaim.ca has your first look at it.

The band describe their sound as "a smorgasbord of celestial synths, warped beats and repetitive rhythms" that draws on a history of Giorgio Moroder and Vangelis film soundtracks. They throw in a dose of "'80s laser-shooting dystopia noir with its cascading neon synth vortex of moody nebula soul-searching and space-imbued Blade Runner-fixated despondency" for good measure.

It's an elaborate description, but one that begins to make sense the longer you listen. The visuals for "Ping Pong with Angels" feature black and white scenes of table tennis, though the angels take the form of overly sensualized ladies wearing animal masks. Scenes of sport are spliced with kaleidoscopic designs, putting a psychedelic spin on your typical game of ping pong.

The electronic outfit release a new LP titled Eclipse today (September 26) via Inner Ear Records, with a limited-edition arriving on Saturday (September 27) for Cassette Store Day. For now, watch the video for "Ping Pong with Angels" in the player below.
