Fiery Furnaces' Matthew Friedberger Announces 'Matricidal Sons of Bitches'
In 2011, Fiery Furnaces member Matthew Friedberger embarked upon his ambitious album series Solos. Now that the series of LPs is complete, the prolific songwriter will be dropping a new collection called Matricidal Sons of Bitches, due out October 30 through Thrill Jockey Records.

According to an announcement from the label, the album was conceived in Paris and was inspired by the B-movie studios known as Poverty Row. Apparently, "The production values and narrative techniques of these films became the basis for Matricidal Sons of Bitches," which is "a horror movie made so economically that the film itself is unnecessary."

Judging by the lengthy 45-song tracklist, which you can see below, the album consists of faux-film scores based on fictitious movies. Any more information than that is hard to glean, however, since Friedberger himself described the album with a rambling and mostly unintelligible post on Thrill Jockey's website.

Friedberger will reportedly embark on a solo tour in support of the disc.
