Felt Documented in Retrospective Photo Book

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 9, 2012

During Felt's decade-long history, the British indie pop icons released ten albums before calling it quits and never looking back. Now, the band are planning to offer fans some insight in their history with a new photo book. Simply titled Felt, it will come out through First Third Books.

According to the publisher [via Pitchfork], the tome collects "more than 140 rare photos from 20 different photographers and from [leader] Lawrence's personal archive." Lawrence, who wrote the annotations, will also be personally signing and numbering each of the 1,000 copies. The introduction was penned by Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley.

Lawrence wrote this little all-caps blurb on the publisher's website: "A WORD TO THE WISE GUY / AS WELL AS WRITING THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS / FELT LOOKED BEAUTIFUL TOO / FOR TEN CONSECUTIVE YEARS THEY HAD IT ALL / AND HERE'S THE PROOF / TAKE A PEEK BENEATH THE NIMBUS COVERS."

You can pre-order your hardback, cloth-bound copy right here. There's currently no firm release date, since the publishers are waiting to achieve a minimum amount of pre-orders before they actually print any copies. In other words, if you want to make sure this happens, head over here and shell out £39 ($61.81) plus shipping).

If you're still not convinced, see a nifty book preview right here.
