If there wasn't already enough anticipation brewing for the new Wilco album, we now get word that none other than Feist will be a guest star on the upcoming record. Apparently, Jeff Tweedy and co. have roped in the Canadian songstress to provide vocals to the new Wilco track "You and I," and according to Rolling Stone, "Everyone who's heard the song has been 'blown away.'"
Rolling Stone's Smoking Section blog reports: "Feist and the dudes in Wilco met at the Grammys last year, and she hit it off with everyone. She's a Wilco fan, and the guys love her music, so they've kept in touch over the past year. Mr. Tweedy is a huge fan of duets, and wanted to work a duet into the new album. Feist was their first call."
However, don't get too hyped up about this superstar collaboration; the yet-untitled follow-up to Wilco's Sky Blue Sky isn't expected until June. In fact, there isn't even a tracklisting yet and only rumours floating around on which songs could appear on the record - those tracks include: "Wilco, the Song," "Deeper Down," "My Country Has Disappeared," "Sunny Feeling" and "One Wing."
On the other hand, Wilco have sorted out all the details of their Ashes of American Flags DVD, which, as previously reported, is due out April 18 on Record Store Day. The band also have several tour dates slated for the coming months, though none in Canada.
